In early 2018, when we had the deep snow thanks to the "Beast from the East", I set up the Kangaroot website.  There is an old Geordie joke:

What's the difference between a kangaroo and a kangaroot?

One is a large Australian marsupial and the other is a Geordie stuck in a lift.

What Kangaroot does is arrange for simple errands to be run for people who can't get out of the house in bad weather.  Even if it's just picking up a pint of milk from the shops, we'll nip out and do it or hook people up with one of our many volunteers.
